This book portrays the life and professional trajectory of a pioneer in her field, Matilde Ucelay Maortua, the first female architect to graduate from a Spanish architecture school. The awarding of the National Architecture Prize in 2006, the country’s highest award, was an intentional recognition of her career that planted a seed on the road to the full integration of Spanish women in the field of architecture.
