The UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality Policies in Science, Technology and Innovation has a double objective. Firstly, improving the level of participation and leadership of women in science, technology and innovation, and supporting structural changes in organizations to achieve this aim. Secondly, advancing the integration of gender perspectives in research, technology and innovation, and in higher education curricula in technological areas (engineering, planning, and architecture).

We are sure that GENDER IS eQUALITY IN STEM and therefore we:
Promote an integrated system of research, training and documentation on gender equality policies in science, technology and innovation.
Facilitate collaboration between high-level, internationally-recognized researcher and teaching staff of the University and other institutions in Spain, as well as elsewhere in Europe and North America, in Latin America and the Caribbean, in Asia and the Pacific, as well as other regions of the World.
Cooperate closely with UNESCO, as well as with UNITWIN-UNESCO Chairs Programme.

The UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality Policies in Science, Technology and Innovation is the only UNESCO Chair in the World dealing specifically with gender and equality issues in technological fields.

We collaborate with research institutions, multilateral organizations, public administration and private companies in introducing gender perspective in their fields of action and equality policies in their structure.
